MINI LESSON
Graphing Linear Functions
A line can be graphed using two points or by using slope and intercept.
The \(y\)-intercept is the point where the line crosses the \(y\)-axis.
If two points are known, the slope can be found using \(\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\).
Once the slope is known, substitute a point to find the equation or intercept.
Question 1
What is the \(y\)-intercept of the line that passes through the points \((-1,5)\) and \((2,-1)\)?
