MINI LESSON

Solving Linear Inequalities

Solving a linear inequality is similar to solving a linear equation.

You can add, subtract, multiply, or divide both sides by the same number.

If you multiply or divide both sides by a negative number, you must reverse the inequality symbol.

The solution to an inequality is often a range of values shown on a number line.

Question 1

What is the solution to the inequality \(2m - 4 \le 3(2m + 4)\)?

Question 2

Which graph is the solution to the inequality \(6.4 - 4x \ge -2.8\)?
