MINI LESSON
Finding Zeros of Polynomial Functions
The zeros of a polynomial are the \(x\)-values that make the function equal to zero.
If a polynomial is written in factored form, set each factor equal to zero.
A zero corresponds to an \(x\)-intercept on the graph.
Carefully solve each factor to find all zeros.
Question 1
The zeros of the function \(f(x)=x(x-5)(3x+6)\) are
Question 2
What are the zeros of \(f(x)=x^2 - 8x - 20\)?
Question 3
Which function has the zeros \(-1\), 3, and \(-4\)?
