Operations with Radicals
Radicals can only be added or subtracted when they have the same radicand.
When multiplying radicals, multiply the numbers outside and inside the radical, then simplify.
To simplify a radical, look for perfect-square factors inside the radical.
Always rewrite the final answer in simplest radical form.
